Bryan Collier

1967 -

BRYAN COLLIER began painting at the age of fifteen and earned a BFA with honors from Pratt Institute in New York. He is the illustrator of over twenty picture books, including Caldecott Honor Books Martin's Big Words (also a Coretta Scott King Honor Book) and Rosa (also a Coretta Scott King Award Winner), as well as the New York Times bestselling Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Child of Hope. He lives in Harlem, where he directs mural programs throughout the city for any child who wants to paint.
