Hyewon Yum

Hyewon Yum is the author and illustrator of several acclaimed books for children, including Mom, It's My First Day of Kindergarten!, which received an Ezra Jack Keats New Illustrator Award. She is also the illustrator of A Piece of Home, written by Jeri Watts. When Hyewon Yum was taking her first swimming lessons as a child, she didn't like the cold water too much. Now she loves swimming and takes her kids to swimming lessons every Saturday (though sometimes they think the water is cold, too!). She lives in Brooklyn with her family.
