Kathryn Erskine

Kathryn Erskine grew up in Europe, Africa, Canada, and the United States, attending eight schools and four universities. She is an attorney and a pharmacy technician but prefers writing for young people. Her previous novels include National Book Award winner Mockingbird. She finds inspiration in the events and people that change our world, such as South African singer and activist Miriam Makeba, the subject of her picture book Mama Africa!
