Book Guide

Except for one thing Star was very happy. Her parents and her sister Betsy loved her dearly, and she had lots of playmates; that is, in the afternoon. In the morning her little friends all went to kindergarten, but Star couldn't because she was only four years old. That was the one thing that made her unhappy. But Star had a way of making interesting things happen—in the department store playroom, in the Thanksgiving Day parade, and even in the kindergarten itself. The months before her 5th birthday came at last were never uneventful.
