Billy and Blaze go west again! Remember last time in Blaze and Thunderbolt how Billy and his handsome pony Blaze made friends with the wild horse Thunderbolt? In this new adventure they meet Jim the cowboy again who tells them about the mountain lion that has been killing his calves.
And as they ride out one day they find a little calf stranded on a narrow ledge, chased there by the mountain lion. Billy throws his lasso around the calf and Blaze, slowly and steadily, draws him up over the ledge to safety. Jim is very pleased to know the whereabouts of the mountain lion and after he is captured, Billy and Blaze are presented with a brand new lasso for their bravery.
Mr. Anderson's warm and realistic drawings are full of action and spirit and bring to life this story of a boy and his pony in the wide open spaces.
