Cecily Giraffe was lonely. All her family and friends had been taken away to the zoo and she didn't have anyone to play with.
Nine monkeys who lived in another place were sad, too, because all the trees they had lived in had been cut down by woodcutters. Curious George, a clever monkey, decided to take them all on a journey to find a new home.
Before long the sad giraffe and the sad monkeys met in an exciting way. And after that they were all happy every minute. Cecily Giraffe made herself into a bridge to get her friends over a deep river. She gave them a nice home and a giraffe bed. She made herself into a ski slide, a parachute jump, and a sailboat. And they all had a good time.
All went well until Cecily's house caught fire, but even that turned out all right too, because James Monkey had such a good idea.
There is fun on every page of this book—fun for Cecily G., fun for the nine monkeys, and most fun of all for the boys and girls who will have the book to look at. Many of them will know the stories of CURIOUS GEORGE, by H. A. Rey (see back flap). George was such a clever monkey that he had to have seven books all his own.
