"What are you carving?" Daniel's brother, Jeff, asks.
"It's a duck," says Daniel.
"You're not doing it right," says Jeff.
"I want it that way," says Daniel, and his father encourages him to do it his own way. When spring comes, Daniel's duck is exhibited at the town fair.
But when people laugh at his duck, Daniel is heartbroken.
In this warm and wise story, Daniel finds out there are different ways of laughing and that art is in the personal vision of the artist. Softly colored illustrations complement this special story.
