In one of the best loved of all the FIVE LITTLE PEPPERS stories, the author takes the Pepper family on a wonderful trip to England, Holland, Switzerland and France.
As usual, the warm friendliness characteristic of the Five Little Peppers attracts all kinds of persons to them no matter in what country they may happen to be; and Polly and her family make good friends in the course of their travels. When they finally return home it is with many happy memories—of old "Mr. Selwyn" whose real identity proved such a surprise to everyone, including snobbish Fanny Vanderburgh—of forlorn little Adela Gray, with a birthday on her hands and no one to celebrate it with her—of the great Herr Bauricke who gave Polly the most wonderful gift of all. Even the fire from which Dr. Fisher saved them all in the dead of night, just in time, seems in retrospect part of the whole gay adventure.
Young readers will delight in the thrilling experiences of the beloved Pepper family on an unforgettable vacation in Europe.
