This very simple rhyming alphabet book takes on a subject dear to the author's heart: goats! These lovable, frisky animals prance through the pages, wreaking havoc and charming young children on each spread, from A is for Apple (a goat's favorite snack) to Z is for triplets Zig, Zag, and Zoe.
Patricia Polacco really knows her goats-she has raised more than a few herself at her Michigan farm-so her depictions of them are authentic and loving. This year, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for Patricia Polacco’s masterful storytelling. Every new book I come across seems to offer something more of her personality, and I’m always delighted by what I find. As much as I adore her work, I always preview her books before adding them to our library, keeping in mind that some of her themes may not align with the values of many of our readers. But, in doing so, I get to immerse myself in the magic of her storytelling, and G is for Goat has to be one of her best or at least most appealing.
