What an amazing house Kukamba's grandmother lives in! Kukamba has never seen a home as beautiful as Gugu's. Best of all are the many colorful paintings and clay animals that Gugu has made to decorate her house. Though the village is dry and dusty and there is no sign of rain, Kukamba is happy helping Gugu work on her wonderful zebras, elephants, and birds.
When the rains finally come, for Kukamba they mark the end of more than just another dry season. But then Gugu helps her see that an ending can also be a beginning.
Set in the grassy plains of Zimbabwe and gracefully illustrated in evocative watercolors, Gugu's House is a unique tribute to the spirit of creativity and the cycles of nature.
