Book Guide

Every year, on the first Monday in September, we celebrate Labor Day. Grown-ups get the day off from work. Children get the day off from school. Many cities hold parades. Many groups organize picnics. Labor Day marks the official end of summer. It is celebrated all over the United States and Canada.

But what exactly are we celebrating? Why is it called Labor Day? And how did it become a national holiday? You'll find the answers in this book.
