Book Guide

Linnea has written her own almanac, where she keeps track of her indoor and outdoor activities all year round.

In January, she opens a bird restaurant on her windowsill; in March, she finds the first spring flower; in July, she goes beach combing (and finds a message in a bottle); and in December, she makes her own Christmas presents.

Her neighbor Mr. Brush takes Linnea along to his little country house, where she plants flowers and harvests vegetables, and her friend Mr. Bloom explains why leaves change colors in the fall.

Linnea also finds time to teach her readers how to dry and press flower; how to make rhubarb compote; how to build a kite or weave a crown of autumn leaves; and how to recognize the Big Dipper in the night sky.

Filled with exciting ideas and with Linnea's usual energy and enthusiasm, Linnea's Almanac is guaranteed to teach everyone something new.
