Osnat was born almost five hundred years ago, when people saw miracles everywhere.

And Osnat's true story can still seem miraculous today: when few girls were allowed to read, Osnat convinced her father to teach her. Then she in turn grew up to teach others, becoming a wise and famous scholar. She was the world's first female rabbi!

Along the way, people told amazing stories about her—how she healed a wounded dove! Helped sick people in her town! Became the leader of a school! Saved a congregation from fire!

But perhaps her greatest feat was to be a light of inspiration for others—to show that any person who can learn might find a path that none have walked before.
