Book Guide

Damaris with Little Dog and her family had come over to America on the Mayflower and this was their first Thanksgiving Feast. Governor Bradford invited the Indians and Chief Massasoit to join the Pilgrims. Damaris was frightened by all the Indians with their bows and arrows and tomahawks, but the food and the Indian dances made her realize how much they all owed to their friends to be able to stay alive in the wilderness. It was a wonderful day.
