Robbut the Rabbit will help to build the folklore of Rabbit Hill. Little Georgie would certainly recognize a cousin in Robbut.
Robbut is not blessed with as much common sense as Little Georgie. He's one of the dissatisfied individuals who thinks he knows exactly what he wants, only to learn better after sorry experience. But he is a most amusing little rabbit with imagination and daring, and fortunately he has a wise friend, a Little Old Man, who helps him in his times of distress.
Here is quiet humor with some rather hilarious moments, all made more amusing and vivid by new drawings of the small animals of the Connecticut countryside.
With the skill in writing that won him the Newbery medal and the skill in drawing that won him the Caldecott medal, Robert Lawson has made this book a satisfying mixture of familiarity and surprise to delight both young and old.
