Sally Brinton decided that her visit to Cousin Dorothea's home in Virginia was about the most exciting adventure that could ever happen. The gay plantation life and the bright dresses and beribboned bonnets of her cousin were a never-ending source of delight to the Northern girl. The year was 1859, and the clouds of war had not yet gathered. It was with reluctance that Sally left Richmond, little dreaming that greater adventures were to befall her in her own home.
There in the quiet little village of Haddonfield, just outside Philadelphia, Sally became intrigued with tales of Revolutionary spies and a secret passage under the old Indian King Inn. Perhaps it led to her own house! Sally decided to find out, and that is when the real adventure began.
