Book Guide

From the time Susan B. Anthony was a young girl, she always believed, as did her Quaker parents, that women were entitled to the same rights and privileges as men. Never happier than when she was working hard as she could, Ms. Anthony traveled all over the country, organizing meetings and lecturing on the rights — particularly the right to vote — of women. With Amelia Bloomer and Elizabeth Cady Stanton, this dynamic, tireless woman contributed all she had to secure the vote for women. A contemporary of abolitionists William Lloyd Garrison, Wendell Phillips and Frederick Douglas, Susan B. Anthony also marched in the forefront of the antislavery contingent. A crusader for human rights, Susan B. Anthony's story is one of great interest for today's women.
