It was spring!

It was Saturday!

It was a day for fun. But it was raining. Just when Ted and Nina were feeling very sad about that, Mother called them out to the kitchen to help her make cookies.

That was real fun, indeed. But the most fun came later when Ted and Nina went upstairs to play in the attic.

Marguerite de Angeli and her own children have loved just such rainy days in the attic—and children everywhere will share Ted and Nina's joy dressing up in the old clothes that came out of the chest; and in the real tea party that was the climax of that happy rainy day.
