A lighthouse fronting the sea is a fascinating and fairly familiar object, but here is a story about a lighthouse on the Hudson River, in the shadow of the great George Washington Bridge. The little red lighthouse is actually there, although many of the crowds who drive along New York's Hudson River Parkway have never noticed it. We cannot guarantee that these adventures really happened to the lighthouse, but we can promise that they will appeal strongly to children.
Mrs. Swift's lovely prose is matched by Lynd Ward's superb illustrations in three colors which decorate every page.
