What young Daniel Boone loved more than anything else, was to go hunting in the Pennsylvania wilderness, where he lived with his family. Though much of his time was spent helping his father, who was a blacksmith, Daniel soon became an expert hunter.
This book tells how Daniel Boone grew up and joined other volunteer frontiersmen to fight with the British against the French and their Indian allies. It describes his exciting adventures with five other woodsmen gathering hides and furs in the new land of Kentucky and his eventual journey back there with his own family and other settlers to live permanently.
It was largely due to the courage and daring of Daniel Boone that the beautiful new land of Kentucky was opened to the settlers and made free from Indian attacks.
It is believed that if he had not led settlers into Kentucky before the Revolutionary War, Great Britain would have held the land west of the mountains and made it a part of Canada.DANIEL BOONE presents Boone's adventurous life story, emphasizing his importance to the development of America.
