Rowdy, Tib Turner's hound pup, was an outdoors dog. In the summertime he slept on the open porch of the Turner's cabin. But when winter winds began to blow Rowdy needed protection. He needed a doghouse.
Building a doghouse would be easy for the Turners, only they cannot start until a neighbor returns their ax.
Rowdy's playful adventures in makeshift shelters will appeal to beginning readers as will the unusual Tennessee mountain setting of this story of a little boy and his dog. Woven into THE RIGHT HOUSE FOR ROWDY is a lovely picture of life in the mountains and the kindly, warm-hearted ways of its people.
