Book Guide

It was on his first morning in Brussels that Jerry Tuck went to the little flower shop, The Garland of Spring, to buy his mother a birthday basket and made friends with Madame Auriol and her son Jean Pierre, and Papa Goncourt who had a wonderful ice cream cart drawn by Bobo. This was the begining of a year of exciting adventures.

During Easter holidays Jerry, Jean Pierre and Papa Goncourt took the wonderful ice cream cart into the Ardennes mountains. There they visited a monastery hospital, met the wounded veteran Mark, and listened to many stories of old Belgium. They remembered especially the legend of the mighty horse Bayard. When they returned to Brussels and were told of Madame Auriol's plan to enter the Flowery Festival, they helped to transform Bobo and the ice cream cart into a fabulous float representing this old legend.

How Mark arrived to help them with their plans solved a mystery and brought happiness to many people.
