PETAR WAS SURE he could find the pirate's treasure on the island near Biloxi, Mississippi, where he lived. But it wasn't easy for him to get started on his expedition, what with his work in the shrimp factory. Then, too, there was his dog who was forever running away. Every time Petar was ready to go treasure hunting, he must search for his pet, it seemed.
But Petar was persistent. Off he went at last — straight into truly dangerous adventures. And the treasure, itself? Nothing could have been more surprising to all Petar's family as well as to him.
You will like Petar, from the moment you meet him in the country where he was born — far-off Dalmatia. And you will understand why he was so happy to have our United States as his new home.
