"Fine news my boy," said Captain McFee. "I am tired of being a landlubber, so I have got a ship again. The S.S. Fidelity of 3000 tons."
Of course, Tim was always tired of being a landlubber, and Captain McFee's news was indeed fine. After much persuading, Tim's parents agree to let Tim join the crew of the S.S. Fidelity as second ship's boy.
Ginger, the Fidelity's first ship's boy, had red hair and a temper to match. But his hair was the real problem. Ginger's hair, a hurricane at sea and the ship's cat all become involved in a rousing sea adventure in which the day is saved by the coming of Tim to the Rescue.
