Book Guide

Not until World War II ended in 1945 was it possible to uncover and document the full extent of the atrocities committed under Adolf Hitler, ruler of Nazi Germany. The horror of the actual deeds far exceeded anyone's imagination. The scale of the crimes was unprecedented in human history. Mass murder, use of slave labor, torture of both civilians and prisoners of war headed the list of Nazi brutalities.

Faced with the problem of punishing the guilty, the Allied powers resolved to bring the Nazi leaders to justice. Thus, in November, 1945, in a proceeding without precedent, the leaders and major organizations of Nazi Germany went on trial for their crimes.
