Heartwarming Stories to Read Aloud

< Other Lists

Reading aloud together during stressful times can be a wonderful way to connect with your kids. It can divert attention from unhelpful thoughts, reduce anxiety in your home, and be an easy way to create lasting bonds while facilitating learning. If you have a backyard or open space outdoors that you can visit you can take a book or e-reader outside and enjoy some fresh air and sunshine along with your encouraging story!

Here we've compiled a list of some of our favorite heartwarming stories that can be enjoyed by the whole family. We've also chosen two books, The Courage of Sarah Noble and The Bears on Hemlock Mountain, that show children overcoming their fears, as well as Hanna's Cold Winter and Bright April that demonstrate families coming together in a time of need to help others. We hope these stories shared become a bright spot in your family's memories.
